IMPORTANT FITTING GUIDE
The motorcycle headlight protector is secured with Dual Locks,
which is a heavy duty, round, clear plastic locking device.
It has mushroom shaped heads that lock together on the inside
which allow the protector to be removed for cleaning. The
glue used is a heavy duty industrial glue called 3M Glue.
The Dual Locks seal against moisture but have slight flexibility,
providing long term resistance to UV and temperature cycles.
They are a great locking device as they join dissimilar
materials, dampen vibration, absorb impact and can be removed
without leaving any marks on the motorcycle lens. Application
is simple.
To ensure a long life for the Dual Locks it is imperative
that ALL the points on the Fitting Guide are followed. The
life span of the Dual Lock varies according to exposure to
the elements and the correct fitting application.
- Ensure the headlight is switched off and the headlight
lens is cold.
- Clean the headlight lens with warm water and dishwashing liquid, ensuring all dirt, waxes and
cleaners have been removed. Dry motorcycle lens.
- Use the 3M Surface Wipe supplied, following the instructions
on the package. ISOCOL, which is also is an isopropyl alcohol
cleaner may also be used.
- Headlight lens must be completely dry. Wipe over with
clean cloth.
- Remove backing plastic from 3M Dual Lock fastener (one
side only).
- Position and apply to the outer edge of the protector
at least 5mm from edge.
- Align protector to desired position. Remove remaining
backing plastic from 3M Dual Lock.
- Press firmly into position. Never apply pressure to the
centre of a curved protector. Apply pressure to the Dual
Locks only.
- Allow Dual Lock adhesive to cure for ten hours.
- Headlight protectors may be removed for easy cleaning.
OR, as an alternative ...
The only other cleaning agent we recommend is EUCALYPTUS OIL
1. Apply EUCALYPTUS OIL to a soft clean cloth. Rub the cloth with the oil over the motorcycle lens.
2. Wipe the lens with a fresh part of the soft clean cloth to remove contaminants and dry the lens.
3. Repeat steps 1&2.
4. Continue with steps 5-10.
